How I Work

How I work

What to expect when we work together, and how we begin.

Talking first, creative when it helps

Most of our work together is conversation. You do not need to be creative, to act or to perform anything. Creative ways of working are simply another door we can open together if and when it feels useful to you, and never something you have to do.

For some people they are central; for others we may never use them at all. It is entirely led by you.

A Jungian foundation

My approach is rooted in Jungian psychology, which begins by recognising the potential in each person and works towards helping you live more fully and more like yourself. We often look at how past experiences, family history and important relationships continue to shape the present, and we gently identify the obstacles that may be keeping you from moving forward.

Difficulties like anxiety, low mood, stress and burnout can arise when important parts of us go unheard for too long. Therapy is a space to hear them.

What you might bring

People come to me with anxiety and panic, stress and burnout, low confidence and self-esteem, relationship and family difficulties, identity questions, loneliness, addiction, bereavement, and the aftermath of trauma or difficult experiences. Others simply feel that something is not quite right and want space to understand it. All of that is welcome here.

Getting started

Meaningful change rarely happens in a single session. I usually suggest beginning with four sessions and then reviewing together how the work is going, so you can decide what feels right. There is no pressure to commit beyond that.
